Abstract: Objective This study was conducted to evaluate the quality of direct network re-port system for communicable diseases and outbreak of public health events (hereinafter refer to as direct network report)in Qiandongnan Prefecture for furthering the timeliness and sensitivity of di-rect network report，and standardizing the reporting work as well．Methods The indexes relative to various communicable diseases were calculated，including type of reporting units，rate of timely report，category of reported case，and report rate for epidemic situation in village and town．Results The current status of communicable diseases report quality was obtained through supervising，guid—ing，and examining the direct network report system．Conclusions The direct network report qual- ity should be evaluated regularly so that problems existing in management of direct network report may be found timely and the reporting work may be instructed in future．
