Abstract: Objective This analysis was to explore lactors influencing the epidemic of neonatal tetanus and corresponding preventive measures among newborns of migrants in Dongyang city. Methods De scriptive epidemiological approaches were utilized to statistically analyze the monitoring data and case in vestigatica materials which were derived from NNT special report system in Dongyang city from 1999 to 2003. Results Unsale delivery，lack of sanitary knowledge，poor sense of immunological prevention and weak management on baby-bearing in migrants were principal factors leading to NNT onset. Con-clusion Reinforcement of baby-bearing management on migrants，strengthening propaganda and edu cation of sanitary knowledge among pregnant women，generalization of hospitalized and sterilized delivery as wall as aseptic caring of umbilical cord for newborns，and mobilizing NNT high-risk women at a ba by-bearing age to fulfill inocuilation of tatanus toxoid are the main measures to prebent and eliminate NNT.
