Abstract: Objective This study was designed to understand status of failure to report on notiti-able infectious diseases of medical institutes in Puyang City and awareness rate among medical personnel for knowledge of epidemic situation report on notifiable infectious diseases．Methods A method of random sampling was adopted for investigating 40 medical personnel from 10 medical institutes．And epidemiological statistical analysis was used for data processing．Results Total 257 cases of infectious diseases of Type B and C were found，while 83 eases were not reported，and the rate of failure to report was 32.30％．The rate of failure to report of medical institutes at Vil-lage level was 58.27％．Which was significantly higher than that of medical institutes at county level or above，I．E．18.18％(X2=41.99，PX2=12.18，P<0.01)．Conclusion In villages failure to report on infectious diseases of medical institutes was serious，and knowledge．Of medical personnel for epidemic situation report was poor．Therefore，training on epidemic situa-tion report for doctors in villages should be strengthened，internal management system of hospitals for epidemic situation report should be established and perfected．Rewards and punishments of doc-tors at village level for epidemic situation report should be well implemented，and the supervision and law execution for infectioUS diseases should be reinforccd．Which are critical measures for the improvement of epidemic situation report level in hospirals．
