Analysis on the incidence and risk factors of hyperuricemia in health check-up subjects

Abstract: Objective The present study was conducted to get the knowledge of the risk factors of hyperuricemia in order to provide basis for specific health education. Methods In Shaoxing Huayu Hospital, 1657 health check-up people had body height, body weight, blood pressure, laboratory test, B ultrasonic and electrocardiography examined. Results 197 cases had hyperuricemia (11.89%). The ages of the cases were 17 to 64 years old, and the morbidity was higher in males than females. There were significant differences in the morbidities between males and females with statistical meanings (P0.01). There were significant differences in bad living habits between cases with hyperuricemia and persons with normouricemia with statistical meanings(P0.01).Conclusion The incidence of hyperuricemia is related to ages and genders, which increased as ages increase. The incidence reasons are relative to some risk factors such as obesity, hyperlipoidemia, diabetes, bad eating habits, drinking alcohol and insufficient sports.
