Abstract: Objective The study was conducted to investigate the status of HIV infections and the awareness of AIDS related knowledge among the immigrant wives from other provinces in Jingning County, Zhejaing Province. Methods　Immigrant wives who married to local men since 1990 (including legal and de facto marriage) received questionnaire survey and anti HIV antibody detection. Results　A total of 930 immigrant wives were tested, and only 2 of them were anti HIV positive, the infection rate was 0.22%. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 880 immigrant women, and most of them were from Yunnan and Guizhou Province where AIDS epidemic was serious. 78.86% of them had the educational level of primary school or below, the awareness rate of AIDS-related knowledge was only 54.56%. Conclusion　The finding of this report suggested that HIV infections were existed among immigrant women in Jingning at some degree. Therefore, attention should be paid to this group for the prevention and control of AIDS.
