Abstract: Objective　The study was conducted to investigate the distribution and patterns of injury caused death in Zhongweicity of Ningxia Hui autonomous region. Methods　Report cards on 559 injury caused deaths in Zhongwei city in Ningxia Huiautonomous region from 2006 to 2007 were collected for statistical analysis. Results　559 injure caused death cases occurred with the mortality rate of 80.63/lakh, accounting for 17.97% of the total death number, and ranking at the third place of the overall death causes. Conclusion　Traffic accident constituted the major factor of injury caused death, most cases occurred among the middle aged group, and also was the major cause to increase the years of potential life lost. Therefore, trafficmanagement should be further enhanced to reduce injury caused mortality.
