Abstract: ObjectiveTo analyze the epidemic trend and epidemiological features of notifiable infectious diseases in Hainan Prefecturre. MethodsThe analysis was conducted on the data collected from national disease reporting information system. ResultsA total of 8310 cases of 10 notifiable infectious diseases of class A, B, C were reported in Hainan Prefecture from 2004 to 2007 with the average annual morbidity of 489.59/lakh and mortality of 0.47/lakh. Viral hepatitis, pulmonary tuberculosis and syphilis were the priority diseases in the area with the morbidity of 243.53/lakh, 103.29/lakh and 103.91/lakh respectively. ConclusionThe incidence of blood borne diseases (viral hepatitis), sexual transmitted diseases (syphilis) and respiratory diseases (pulmonary TB) increased year by year, it is necessary to strengthen the prevention and control of these priority diseases in Hainan Prefecture.
