Abstract:
Objective To understand the distribution of injury cases reported by Xinhong community health service center in Shanghai and provide references for the development of injury prevention strategy. Methods The data of injury cases reported from the health service center from 2013 to 2016 were analyzed,including demographic characteristics, injury types and injury causes of the cases. Results A total of 12 748 injury cases were reported, the male to female ratio was 2.99:1, their average age was 40.64 16.46 years. The annual incidence peak was during July-August, and daily incidence peaks were during 08:00-10:00 and during 13:00-15:00. The top injury cause in age groups 0-14 years and 65 years was fall(44.30%,49.79%),the top injury causes in age groups 15-39 years and 49-64 years were cut/stab(41.78%,37.33%)and blunt strike(25.13%,27.60%). The injuries mainly occurred at industrial and construction sites(6 281 cases, 49.27%), at home(2 479 cases,19.45%)and at trade and services sites(1 613 cases,12.65%). The injuries mainly occurred when people were working(7 779 cases, 61.02%),doing housework(1 923 cases, 15.08%)and having leisure activities(1 169 cases, 9.17%). Conclusion The case number was significantly higher in males than in females, the injury causes varied with age group, and the top three causes of injuries were cut/stab, blunt strike and fall.
