Abstract: Since the beginning of the 20th century it has been demonstrated that 10 mosquito borne viruses exist and circulate in Europe. These viruses were distributed widely and can cause diseases in human and livestock, resulting great disease burden and economic loss in endemic European country. China is adjacent to European continent, which increase the risk of the introduction of arbovirus from Europe via vectors. This paper summarizes the present knowledge about the European mosquito-borne viruses and related diseases in order to provide evidence for the prevention and control of arboviral diseases in China.
