Qualitative survey of STD/AIDS related knowledge, attitude and behaviors among money boys in Hangzhou

  • 摘要: 目的 了解杭州市男男性工作者(money boys, MB)性病/艾滋病相关知识、态度与行为。 方法 通过志愿者推荐招募调查对象,采用个人深入访谈的调查方法进行面对面访谈。 结果 共调查MB 10人,年龄中位数为21岁, 5人自我认同为同性恋, 4人为双性恋,还有1人为异性恋。7人有将来结婚的打算。MB对性病艾滋病相关预防知识还存在错误认识,且7人认为自己没有感染性病艾滋病的危险;部分MB同时为男性和女性提供性服务,性服务方式主要包括肛交、口交和手淫;口交普遍不使用安全套,部分MB在最近1个月商业性肛交活动中未坚持每次使用安全套。 结论 MB是STD/AIDS传播的桥梁人群,存在诸多感染的危险因素,容易导致STD/AIDS在该人群中的流行,亟须开展有针对性的行为干预。

     

    Abstract: Objective To understand STD/AIDS related knowledge, attitude and behaviors among money boys in Hangzhou. Methods Face to face interview was conducted among money boys recruited through introduction by others. Results Ten money boys were interviewed. The median of their age was 21 years old. Five of them believed they were homosexual, 4 believed they were bisexual and only 1 believed he was heterosexual. Seven of them wanted to get married. They had misunderstanding about prevention of STD/ AIDS, and 7 thought they had no risk to be infected with HIV. About 20% had commercial sex with both males and females. The main risk sexual behaviors included anal sex, oral sex and masturbation. Most of them never used condoms at oral sex, and about 20% of them didn't use condoms in all commercial anal sex in the latest month. Conclusion Money boys are the risk population to transmit HIV, and risk behaviors are common among them, which could result in the transmission of STD/AIDS. Behavioral interventions should be implemented urgently among this population.
