Abstract: The morbidity of notifiable disease in 1 993 went down to the lowest level in the history ( 1 12. 01 / 100,000)of Wuwei prefecture. Nevertheless,other surveys and analysis showed that the under-report rate of infectious diseases in the medical insitutions was as high as 32. 70% . In 1 9 9 4 , after a series of practical measures were adopted and the system of epidemic management was made perfectly the report morbidity was 135. 57% more than that of 1993.There was no zero case monthly report in two thirds of towns and townships.It was believed that in spite of the fact that the management of infectious dis-eases of the prefecture has made obvious achievements,the village clinics and personal medical workers still had a high rate of under-report.The analysis pointed out that,focus should be laid on the rural ar-eas,on the legal education of medical workers in the units of primary level while paying attention to the medical institution at the county level and on their awareness of reporting infectious diseases.
