Abstract: Objective　The study was conducted to evaluate the living conditions of AIDS orphaned or susceptible children under the age of 18 years in Shandong province after the implementation of the national HIV/AIDS prevention and cure regulation. Methods　Questionnaire based surveys were conducted among AIDS orphaned or susceptible children under the age of 18 years in the subject areas. Results　By March 2006, 80.4% of the surveyed children had received care and support, 32.7% of them were satisfied with their current life, whereas 30.2% of them had been discriminated against. The above proportion was 95.7%, 71.3% and 10.3% in December 2006, respectively, and remarkable difference was noticed from the two results (P0.05). Conclusion　Facilitating their growth and development, the care and support given to AIDS orphaned or susceptible children proved to be effective and worth proceeding.
