Abstract:
Objective To assess the risk of public health emergencies and communicable diseases concerned in the mainland of China in September 2016. Methods An internet based expert counsel was conducted to analyze the surveillance data of public health emergencies and priority communicable diseases in China reported through different channels, and the experts in all the provincial centers for disease control and prevention attended this video conference. Results Due to the suitable season for mosquito activity, the risk of local transmission after the importation of mosquito-borne diseases, such as Zika virus disease, has increased.Local dengue fever transmission has occurred in some southern provinces, and the risk of further transmission is high. The incidence of food poisoning or food-borne diseases might be still high, it is necessary to strengthen the prevention and control of food poisoning or food-borne diseases. Conclusion It is predicated that the incidence of public health emergencies in September would be still at low level, but slightly higher than that in August. Close attention should be paid to mosquito-borne diseases, hand food and mouth disease, viral diarrhoea and food poisoning.
