An Epidemiological Investigation and Outbreak on and Dengue Fever in a Courtyard in Guangzhou

An outbreak of dengue fever took place in a courtyard in Guanzhou from Septamber to October,1994. An epidemiological,pathogenic and serological study was carried out.The results showed that it was an outbreak of Dengue fever caused by Dengue fever type I virus.The attack rate was 12.3%(13/106).After taking emergency control measures,no further dengue infection outside the courtyard was found.By epidemiological investigetion,it was shown that the source of the dengue fever outbreak was probably from abroad.
