Survey on the Infection of Mycoplasma Genitalium in Sexually Promiscuous Persons in Beijing Area

Cervical swabs from 125 sexually promiscuous persons and 129 healthy controls in Beijing were detected for Mycoplasma genitalium by polymerase chain reaction (PCR).The results showed that the prevalance of M.genitalium in the sexually promisuous persons was 19.20%,whereas M.genitalium was not discovered in the healthy controls.It indicated that M.genitalium infection existed in the sexually promiscuous persons in Beijing.So M.genitalium infection must be noted in controlling STDs.
