Analysis of Typhoid Fever in 2003 in Tracked Counties of Guizhou Province

Objective The present study wss to investigate the epidemic of typhoid fever in the tracked counties of Guizhou province and search for mleasures to control the disease. Methods The epi- demiological data and information obtained through active searching about the epidemic in 2003 in the 15 tracked countiea were statistically analyzed．Results The average incidence of typheid tever in the tracked courltics Was 119.02/100，000，with a decrease by 15.85％ compared with the incidence of last year. It was shown that outbreaks of the epidemic was involved in 16.26％ of the cases. 13.86％of the cases were found by through active searching. Conclusion. Active searching of the Nource of infection is conducive to reduction in the epidemic inddence. Increase in investment in the management of the dis-ease is the key to controlling the epidemic. Etiological surveillance and supervision of typhoid fever should be reinforced.
