Investigation and Analysis on HIV/AIDS Infection in Heze City

  • Objective The epidemic situation of AIDS monitorred in recent years in Heze city were analyzed SO as to accommodate a scientific basis for instituting preventive and therapeutic strategies against AIDS.Methods Epidemic characteristics of AIDS in Heze city were analyzed through sero-logical and epidemiological monitoring to put forward preventive and therapeutic measures.Results By the end of 2004,139 cases of HIV infection and AIDS patients had been detected,of whom there were 4 cases of failure in follow-up and 40 cases of death.The infection was mainly aggregated in young adult farmers with a male VS.female rate of 1.24:1 (77:62).The infection pathway was mainly through blood transmission,accounting for 83.45%.Conclusion The prevention and treatment should be strengthened including census in villages where blood donation was managed SO that transmission of AIDS among STD population will be brought under control and the trend of extending from high-risk people to general population will be curbed
