Surveillance of contamination of 6 categories of food by listeria monocytogenes in Longyan City

  • Objective Thls surveillance was conducted to nnderstand the contaminadon status of some commercial foods by listeria monocytogenes and their resistance t0 drugs Methods Surveillance was done on six categorics of commercial foods such as raw meat.cOOked meat products,raW milk, ice cream,aquatic products and vegetables that can be eaten raw.Results Fourteen strains of listeria monocytogenes wvere isolated from 410 food samples of the 6 categories with a positive rate of 3.4% And a higher rate of contalnination of the bacteria was found in raw meat and aquatic products.Being 6.5%and 3.3%respectively.It was found that the MPN value reached 270 cfu/100g in one or two raw meat samples Drug sensitivity showed that 57.%ol the 14 strains of listerla monocytogenes wele resistant to one antibiotic.35.7%to two antibiotics and 21. 4%to three antibiotics Conclusion Surveillance and forecast should be reinforced And it is suggested that comprehensive management from stoekbreeding to dinning table be taken by the sectors concerned t0 prevent food borme diseases occurring And the management of antibiotk use and surveillance of drug resistance are to be well done.
