Analysis of surveillance of viral hepatitis B in Dinghai district of Zhoushan, Zhejaing province, 2004-2007

  • ObjectiveTo investigate the direct network reporting of surveillance data of viral hepatitis in Dinghai district. MethodsDescriptive epidemiological study was conducted to analyze the surveillance data.ResultsA total of 1140 hepatitis B cases were reported accumulatively from 2004 to 2007 with an annual average incidence rate of 73.03/lakh; The proportion of hepatitis B cases in class A and B infectious diseases cases constituent increased year by year and the revised annual average incidence rate was 76.39/lakh. Most cases were of chronic hepatitis B (74.66%). The annual underreport rate of hepatitis B was 2%-3%. ConclusionThe reported incidence was high in population of 15-54 years old, low in children less than 15 years old and increased year by year in the population aged>55 years. More cases occurred in men than in women. Worker, home servant or jobless people, farmer and staffs were the major populations affected.
