Surveillance of soil-transmitted nematode infection in children aged ≤12 years in Jiefang district of Jiaozuo, Henan, 2012

  • To understand the infection status of soil-transmitted nematodes in children aged ≤12 years in Jiefang district of Jiaozuo, Henan province, and provide evidence for the prevention and control of parasitosis in risk population. Sampling survey was conducted in eastern, western, southern, northern and central areas in Jiefang district, and laboratory detection was conducted with modified Kato-Katz technique. The survey indicated that that the infection rate of soil-transmitted nematodes in children aged ≤12 years was high in this district, It is necessary to further strengthen the related surveillance for the prevention and control of soil-transmitted nematode infection in children.
