Epidemiological survey of a food poisoning event caused by Phytolacca americana leave

  • A food poisoning event occurred in a resort in Beijing on October 1, 2012, and 6 cases were involved. Epidemiological and toxicological surveys and morphological identification indicated that the poisoning was caused by eating Phytolacca americana leaves salad in dinner. It is necessary to strengthen the health education about the toxic plants to prevent this kind of food poisoning.
