Analysis of deaths from injury in residents of Xiacheng district,Hangzhou city from 2002 to 2006

Objective The study was conducted to investigate the deaths of injury in Xiacheng district,Hangzhou city and the health hazards for residents.Methods The data were collected from the disease and injury deaths reporting system and coded per the international classification of diseases.Cases of injury death from 2002 to 2006 were epidemiologically analyzed,and the years of potential life lose(YPLL) was calculated.Results The injury death rate of residents in Xiacheng District was 27.14/lakh.The standardized death rate was 21.34/lakh,accounting for 5.00% of total deaths.Injury ranked sixth in all causes of death and second in relation to the YPLL.Constitution Injuries had posed particular health hazards for residents in Xiacheng District of Hangzhou City.Targeted risk-prevention measures should be established for various age groups.
