Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the quality and efficiency of epidemic information reporting based on the regional infectious disease surveillance and early warning platform in Hubei province and provide reference for the study of infectious disease surveillance and early warning in the context of effect combination of treatment and prevention.
Methods The quality and efficiency of infectious disease reporting and public health emergency surveillance before, during (before the platform establishment) and after (after platform establishment) the epidemic were evaluated.
Results Compared with data before and during the epidemic, the timely reporting rate of infectious diseases increased by 0.004% and 0.003% respectively after the platform was established in Hubei, and the late-reported card count decreased by 3 and 11. The proportion of confirmed cases of statutory reporting of infectious diseases increased by 36.33% and 5.12% (P<0.01). The count of public health emergencies of infectious diseases decreased by 32 and 14, and the average count of cases involved in each emergency decreased by 18 and 37. The average interval between the onset of the first case to the reporting of general emergency was shortened by 2.44 and 2.74 days, and the average interval between the reporting to the end of each general-level emergency was shortened by 9.57 and 9.66 days.
Conclusion The provincial infectious disease surveillance and early warning platform in Hubei has achieved information integration in disease treatment and prevention and improved the ability of medical institutions in infectious disease finding and reporting, surveillance and response.
