Abstract:
ObjectiveTo find out a simple and rational method to evaluate the quality of network direct reporting of communicable disease. MethodsTOPSIS method was used to evaluate the timely reporting rate, timely verifying rate, underreporting rate and completeness rate of reporting card in network direct reporting of communicable disease in 2006 in all the cities and counties of Yichang Municipality (These cities and counties are referred as A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J areas). ResultsAfter the evaluation of the 4 indicators by TOPSIS method, the result indicated that B area ranked first, followed by D, G, E, A, F, C, I, H and J areas. After further analysis by rank-sun ratio method, the result indicated that the reporting quality in B and D areas were at high level, the quality in I, G, C, A, F and E areas were at moderate level, and the quality in J and H areas were at low level. ConclusionEvaluation of the quality of network direct reporting of communicable disease according to single indicator may result in the loss of information and incomplete analysis. TOPSIS method can treat the initial data in a tendency and normalization way, which could wipe out the influence of different dimensions, make the full use of initial data and reflect the good and bad of the unit evaluated in a quantitation way. By further analysis of rank-sun ratio method, TOPSIS method can integrate the quantitation analysis with qualitation analysis, which could make the results more direct and accurate.
