Abstract:
The prevalence rates of chronic bronchitis were studied in smoking group (1750) and nonsmoking group (818) in 2568 retired army senior cadres resided in 26 cadre sanatoriums with similar dietary, living, and environmental condition. The results showed that the prevalence rates of chronic bronchitis were higher in smoking group than in nonsmoking group,P2.The prevalence rate of chronic bronchitis was also increased among patients who smoked more or for a longer time.It was suggested that smoking should be prohibited in order to reduce chronic bronchi-tis.
