Abstract: Objective This study was designed to understand through HIV monitoring carried out among female jobholders in public places of entertainment the knowledge of the group about pre-vention and control of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)，as well as the HIV infection situation of this group Methods A standardized questionnaire was used for the investigation，and blood samples were taken for HIV test．Results Among the 348 people surveyed，there were 4 cases infected with HIV，the infection rate was 1.15％，and the awareness rate for AIDS knowl-edge was 72.70％．Conclusion A system of registration and periodic physical examination for jobholders of recreation areas should be formulated，control for high-risk group and infected group should be stredgthened，effect of intervention work be promoted，and transmission and spread of AIDS be effectively controlled．
