Abstract:
Objective The study was conducted to evaluate the epidemiological trend of malaria in Xi'an in 2007. Methods Annual reports of malaria and notifiable diseases statistics were imported into Excel for statistical analysis. Results The incidence of malaria is 0.2/lakh in Xi'an in 2007. Tertian malaria accounted for 21.4 percent of the total cases,malignant malaria for 14.3 percent, and undifferentiated ones for 64.3 percent. The affected majority were men, amounting to 92.9% of all cases; eight imported cases were found, accounting for 57.1 percent, along with six locally infected cases,accounting for 42.9 percent. No deaths were reported this year. Conclusion The incidence of malaria was low in Xi'an at present.
