Abstract
ObjectiveTo study the Iin vitro/I drug susceptibility of IMycoplasma penetrans (M. penetrans)/I isolated from cancer patients. MethodsThe minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) and minimal bactericidal concentrations (MBCs) of 7 antibiotics including levofloxacin to 15 strains of M. penetrans were performed. ResultsThe MICs of clindamycin and levofloxacin were the lowest (0.078 g/ml), followed by ciprofloxacin(0.156 g/ml), erythromycin (0.156 g/ml), chloramphenicol (0.312 g/ml), ofloxacin (8 g/ml) and gentamicin (10 g/ml). The MBCs of clindamycin and levofloxacin were the lowest (0.156 g/ml).ConclusionClindamycin and levofloxacin might be the first choice of antibiotics for the treatment of IM. penetrans/I infection.
