Studies on the Application of α—p—Datp of Bio—11—Dutp—labelled Pbf DNA Probe in the Surveilolace of Malaria

  • This report deals with cloned Pbf DNA probe from the genomic DNA library of plas-modium falaiparum labelled with-p-Datp of BIO-11-Dutp was used in dot hybridization to detect blood samples from Hainan,Yunnan and Shandong.The results have shown the coincidence rate of de-tection between those probe and with microscope respectively were 98.6%,96.2%for Plasmodium falciparum;91.6%,86.7% for Plasmodium vivax and 95.2%,100% for normal controls.Plasm modium falciparum could be identified specifically from samples with various malaria parasites,indi-cating that these probe have high specificity for falciparum maolaria infecton.The parasites as low as 84ul blood or 10 pg of parasite DNA could still be discriminated.
