Studies on the Application of α—p—Datp of Bio—11—Dutp—labelled Pbf DNA Probe in the Surveilolace of Malaria

This report deals with cloned Pbf DNA probe from the genomic DNA library of plas-modium falaiparum labelled with-p-Datp of BIO-11-Dutp was used in dot hybridization to detect blood samples from Hainan,Yunnan and Shandong.The results have shown the coincidence rate of de-tection between those probe and with microscope respectively were 98.6%,96.2%for Plasmodium falciparum;91.6%,86.7% for Plasmodium vivax and 95.2%,100% for normal controls.Plasm modium falciparum could be identified specifically from samples with various malaria parasites,indi-cating that these probe have high specificity for falciparum maolaria infecton.The parasites as low as 84ul blood or 10 pg of parasite DNA could still be discriminated.
