Analysis of Sexually Transmitted Disease(STD)Surveillance in Hangzhou City 1998 to 1993

  • Hangzhou was one of 26 urban STD Survellance centers in China. The incidence of STID in the city remained rather high and increased progressively from 1 9 86 to 1 9 9 3. Totally 1 1 28 3 cases were reported in a period of 6 years, the average annual incidence was 139.71/100000 and the incidence reached to a peak at 229.16 cases per 100000 people in 1993. The highest incidence occurred in those of 20 to 40 age group including workers. Farmers,self-employed businessmen and the unemployed,they were sexually active and received lower educationlThe apparent increase of sexual activity before and outside marriage was the major reason for higher incidence of STD in the city.
