Study on the Risk Factors of Abnormal Alanine Aminotransferase of blood donors (ALT ) in three villages of Hebei province

  • An one year dynamic observation on the risk factors of Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) eleva- tion was carried out in 2505 blood donor from 3 villages of Hebei province. The ALT abnormal rate was 3. 27% (82/2505) when tested in the first time. Anti-HCV positive and alcohol abusing were the main risk factors for the ALT abnormal conversion. A year later, 24.64% (17/69) of the ALT abnor- mal persons remained still abnormal , 2. 49% (50/2505) of the normal ALT persons converted to ab- normal, the ALT abnormal rate became to 3.22%(67/2079).Anti-HCV was the only factor which significantly affected the ALT persistent positive rate. For the anti-HCV positive persons, the ALT per-sistent positive rate was 44.4%(4/9).And for the negative ones,it was 11.63%(5/43),which was significantly lower than the former. The infections of Hepatitis Type B Virus(HBV) and Hepatitis Type A Virus(HAV) were showed no significant influence on the abnormal rate and one-year abnor-mal conversion rate of ALT in the whole population, but seemed play main role in children.
