First Report on Epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever in Rural Area of Huhehaote City

There was no report on Epidemic Hemorrhagic Fever (EHF) in the history of Huhehaote. First case of EHF confirmed by serology was reported in Bikeji Town of Huhehaote City in March 1995. The density of Rattus in patient's home and the surrounding resident area was 3. 61%.The positive rate was 21. 57% in 51 lung samples of collected Rattus. The positive rate of latent infection in healthy persons arrounding patient's home was 2. 71% (1/37). The epi- demiological survey also indicated that the patient, did not go out of town. The animal epidemio- logical survey showed that there were natural foci of EHF in the rural area of Huhehaote city.
