  • The characteristics of the strain of V.cholera O139 firstly isolated from a southern city in China was studied in June 1996.The results indicated that there was no significant difference in phenotype,genes of ctx,zot,ace,ctxa and outer membrance protein between the strain isolated from this city and the reference strains except the susceptibility to O/129 agent.There was difference in ribotypes between strains isolated from this city and abroad by using DNA hybridization but was similar to V.cholera O1 isolated from the same city in the epidemic period.
