A Serological Study on the Legionella Infection in Patients with Pumolonary Diseases in Jiamusi Prefecture

A serological study on Legionella Pneumophila(LP) was carried out in 102 cases of lung diseases by using tube agglutination test in Jiamusi Prefecture.The result showed that 23 cases of which were positive reaction.The positive rate was 22.54%.The major serum types of the positives were LP1,LP6,LP8 and LP12 .The highest was LP1.The positive rate in pneumonia and COPD was higher than that in other pulmonary diseases.There was a positive correlation between positive rates and ages,but no correlation with sex.The data indicated that there was Legionella infection in Jiamusi Prefecture.The authors suggest-ed that the medical doctors should pay attention to these aged and weak patients with pneu-monia and COPD,in order to get the correct diagnosis of Legeonella infection as earier as possible.
