Abstract

This paper reports the results of phage typing and antibiotic resistance of 1351 strains of Salmonella Typhi collected in Zhejiang Province in 1988～1995.The organisms were divided into 24 types by Vi bacteriophages.The total typing rate was 83.12%.M1,A,D2 and E1 were the main types. It was found that more than 99% strains were sensitive to NOR and AKN.The resistance of Salmonella typhi was related to phage typing of epidemic strains.The resistance of M1 was significantly higher than that of non M1.
