An Investigation on an Outbreak of Rotavirus Group B Infection in an University

  • An outbreak of 1095 cases of Rotavirus Group B infection was occurred in an university of Hebei Province.It was caused by drinking water contaminated with living sewage.The attack rate in the region that the contaminated drinking water spread to was 35.56%.Most of cases had fever(79.26%) and gastrointestinal symptoms(77.40%).The investigation showed that the quality of the sewer treatment facility and the second water reservoir facility and the distance between these two facilities were not met the sanitary standard.It was suggested that preventive sanitary surveillance should be strenthened.
