AntiBorrelia Burgdorferi Antibody Response In 268 Patients With Suspected Lyme Disease In Beijing

  • With an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and an indirect flouorescent antibody (IFA) test, an investigation on antibodies (IgG,IgM) of Borrdlia burgdorferi in sera of 268 suspected lyme disease patients was carried out from 1995 to 1996.Eighty one patients were positive (30.22%).The positive rate of the neurological disorders,circulatory system patients,skin disorders and arthritis patients was 39.33%(59/150),24.00%(6/25),20.59%(7/34) and 12.24%(6/49) respectively.Two specimens of the seven patients with headache,fatigue and fever were positive.Among the three psychiatric derangments,one specimen was positive.Ninety - eight percent of the total 81 positive patients had good curative effects after the treatment of antibiotic.
