DNA obtained from the Breinl strain of Rickettsia Prowazedii and vector PUC19 DNA were digested with the restriction endonuclease Hind Ⅲ and linked with T4 DNA ligase.The linked mixture was used to transform E.Coli JM103 and plated on LB agar containing ampicillin.Bacterial clones were screened for antigen production with hyperimmune rabbit serum.Two of the clones revealed expression of antigen reactive with anti-R.Prowazekii serum.
