A Seroepidemiological Study on HGV Infection in HCC Patients

  • The serum samples of 160 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cases and 130 health people were detected with enzyme immunoassay (EIA),the results showed that the positive rate of antiHGV were 14.38% and 2.31% respectively. It indicated that there was infection of HGV among different groups of people, the positive rate of antiHGV in HCC patients was significaltly higher than that in health people. The authors postulated that the HGV infection maybe the cause of HCC.At the same time, the rate of HBV infection was 82.61% in the anti-HGV positive cased of HCC patients, which prompted that the overlapping infection of HGV and HBV increased the risk of HCC occurring.
