Etiological and Infectious Factors of Dysentery among Domestic Tourists

  • During the travel season from July to August between 1988 and1998.We studied the etiological and infectious factor in 237 tourists who came from 18 various provinces and autonomous region and suffered from dysentery. As a result ,118 germs which cause dysentery belonging to 14 species were identified , accounting for 49.79% of the total detected numbers.The pathological fractions were 52.54% for entro-pathological vibrio,16.95% for pathogenic E.coli which cause dysentery and 13.56% for proteus. Contaminated diet,unripe seafood and unexpected drinking of polluted water when swimming were the major infectious factos.The improvement of the travel enviroment and the promption of self-protective consciousness were suggested.
