An Effective Method for Stimulating Smokers to Quit--Chinese Quit and Win 1998

  • Chinese Quit and Win contest 1998 was held in six cities during May 2-29,1998. There were 38 312 smokers registered. The average quit rate after one month of the contest was 61.1 percent. The cost for one quitting successfully was 9. 36 US . It indicated thatQuit and Win contest was an effective method to stimulate smokers to quit in a short period oftime, and it could be a good way for improving and developing smoking control in China.
