  • An outbreak of Hepatitis A (HA) occurred in a mountain village of Hebeiprovince in autumn of 1997. It began on July 21, got to peak prevalence in August, ended onSeptember 23, and lasted for 64 days. Twenty-three HA cases were found in the outbreak, which was 19.33 % of the age group 1 to 14 years old. The accumulation of susceptible and contamination of drinding water might be the main causes of the outbreak. To prevent this kind ofHA outbreak, improvement of drinking water system and regular use of HA vaccine might be two effective measures.
