A “High-pathogenicity Island” of Yersinia Enterocolitia Exsited in Entero-SLT-Producing and Invasive E.Coli Strains

  • The irp-2 and FyuA genes of “high-pathogenically island” (HPI) of Yersinia enterocolitia and asnT-tRNA locus for HPI insertion on the chromosome DNA were detected for 43 strains of entero-SLT-producing and invasive Escherichia Coli(ELIEC) by PCR method. We demonstrated that the irp2 and fyuA genes of Y.enterocolitia were existed in 34.9% of ESIEC strains tested, and mutated asnT-tRNA locus was observed in ESIEC strains carrying irp2 and fyuA genes. This findings suggested that some ESIEC strains carried HPI island needed to be clarified.
