Abstract
In order to understand the status of HBV HCV infection in intravenous injection heroin addicts ,HBsAg,anti-HCV and ALT in serum were detected by ELISA in 2260 cases of intravenous injection heroin addicts .The Results showed that the positive rates of HBsAg and anti-HCV in serum were 37.8% and 53.9% respectively and 456 cases of both HBsAg and anti-HCV positive were found with a coinfection rate of 20.2%, all of them were significantly higher than those in the control groups ( 24.9% ,22.3%,10,8%).There was a statistic difference between two groups(P<0.001).In the group of 2260 cases of heroin addicts, the infection rate of HBV or HCV only and abnormal rate of ALT were 26.3% and 59.6%,respectively and there was a statistic difference between two groups(P<0.001).The abnormal rate of ALT in HBV HCV coinfection patients was 62.1%,(P<0.001) when compared with HBV infection group and there was no significant difference when compared with HCV infection only(P<0.05).Conclusion:In intravenous injection heroin addicts, the infection rate of HCV was higher than that of HBV and the abnormal rate in anti-HCV positive patients was higher than that in HBsAg positive patients. It was suggested that intravenous injection has become an important way for spreading.
