ISOLATION OF INFLUENZA VIRUSE BY USING MICROPLATE METHOD

  • The authors conducted a comparative study on 618 throat wash specimens for isolating influenza virus using the microplate method and the tube method. Of them 104 strains for virus (positive rate 16.83%) were isolated with microplate method, including 2 strains of influenza A(1N1), 90 strains of influenza A(H 3M2) and influenza B(12 strains), while 93 strains of virus were isolated with the tube method (positive rate 15.05%). But the microplate method was more simple, convenient and time-saving than the tube method.
