AN EPIDEMIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS ON TYPHOID FEVER IN PIZHOU CITY 1993～1999

An epidemiological analysis on typhoid fever cases (1993～1999) was carried out in Pizhou city. The results showed:the average incidence rate of typhoid fever was 6.396×10-6 in 1993～1999. The rate was increasing recently. The seasonal characteristic of disease was obvious, the peak period was between June 25 to November 5. The incidence rate in down town area was higher than that in rural area. The patients mainly were farmers. The cases were concentrated in 20～39 age group. It indicated that the epidemic of typhoid fever was keeping spread in this area,the prevention and control should be strengthened no time to delay.
