  • casesofNeonatalTetanus (NNT)werereportedinJiangsuprovince 1 996～ 1 999.Theincidence ratewas 0 .0 2‰～ 0 .0 7‰ .ReportedNNTdeathcaseswere1 6rankedatthetopinallnotifiablediseases.Thereport edcasesinthemaleweremuchmorethanthatinthefemmale,andthereportedcaseswereconcentratedintheeco nomicaldevelopedareas .Parturitionsituationofpregnantwomenandtheantibodylevelofchildbearingwomendirectly influencedNNToccurrence .Aserologicalsurveyontetanusantibodylevelwascarriedoutinnormalpopulation 1 999. The result showed that the average antitoxin was 0.0320 IU/ml,positive rate of antibody was 70.19%.The above mentioned two indexes were not related with age and were decreased gradually by year. The antibody level of child-bearing women were not reached to the protective antibody level ni 1998 and 1999.
