Analysis on Tuberculosis Epidemic in Six Schools of Henan Province

From 1992 to 20000, several tuberculosis epidemics took place in schools of Henan province. PPD test and chest X-ray were done in students of 6 of the schools. Sputum microscope examination was done in those whose PPD test showed strong positive reaction and those whose chest X-ray was abnormal. 95 active pulmornary tuberculosis cases were found out finally. Of these, 14 cases were smean positive. Its prevalence rate was 1786/106, and its smean positive prevalence rate was 263/106. Both of the two rates were significantly higher than that of the third tu-berculosis epidemic survey in Henan. Teennagers were more likely to suffer from tuberculosis. Regular anti-TB treat-ment was an efficient method to control tuberculosis.
