Study on isolation of four kinds of difficultily isolated mycoplasmas from STD patients

The aim of this article was to research wether STD patients in our country contained Mycoplasma genitalium (Mg)、Mycoplasma fermentans(Mf)、Mycoplasma penetrans (Mpe) and Mycoplasma pirum (Mpi) infections. We cultured urethral specimens with the modified SP-4 culture medium for isolation. The positive culture was identificated with MIT and NPCR. 11 Mg strains、2 Mf strains and 2 Mpe strains were isolated from the 292 STD patients. It was the first time to prove pathogenically that Mf and Mpe infections existed in STD patients in Jiangsu Province,and it was necessary to pay attention to Mg、Mf and Mpe infections in STD patients.
