In- Vitro Activity of Rabeprazole (Bolite) against Helicobacter pylori

Objective Rabeprazole is a gastric parietal. Cell proton pump inhibitor, the aim of this study was to investigate its activity against Helicobacter pylori in vitro. Method We investigated its and imicrobial effect by deter- mining the MICs for 3H. Pylori strains isolated from different ountries. Results The MIC99 was 2.25μg/ml for all the 3 strains, exhibiting a stronger inhibitory activity in vitro than Omeprazole. Conclusion It suggested that Rebaprazole contributed in the treatment of H. pylori infection not only for its anti - secretion of acid but also for its anti H.plori activity.
